NOTICE OF PROPOSED RATE CHANGE

Public notice is hereby given that on December 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m., at the District’s administrative offices located at 9875 Vermillion Road, Longmont, Colorado, the Board of Directors of the Longs Peak Water District will take action on a proposed rate increase discussed at the regularly scheduled November meeting based on District Bylaws and wholesaler’s rate increases to the District.  The rate increase will take effect January 1, 2019.

 SECTION 15- 1508  ANNUAL RATE ADJUSTMENT.  On November 17, 1994, the District Board approved a motion to increase rates effective January 1 of each year in an amount equal to (or approximately equal to) the Denver-Boulder Consumer Price Index (D-B CPI). Should the D-B CPI not be available, the National Consumer Price Index will prevail.

The District’s wholesale water provider has proposed a .20/1000 gallon increase each year for the years 2019 and 2020.  Years 2021 and 2022 will incur a .22/1000 gallon increase each year.  Increases of this magnitude have never been passed along from our wholesale provider.

Current – 2018                                    Proposed – 2019

$17.00/mo. billing fee, and                 $18.00/mo. billing fee, and

$3.75/1000 gallons                              $3.95/1000 gallons

Public Notice of Rate Hearing – November 15, 2018  — Pursuant to Sec. 32-1-1001(2), C.R.S., notice is hereby provided that at 9:30 am on November 15, 2018, the Board of Directors for the Longs Peak Water District will be holding a public meeting at 9875 Vermillion Road, Longmont, CO 80504 to discuss, among other things, potential rate and tap fee increases.  Should you have any questions regarding this meeting, please contact Gary Allen at 303-776-3847.

The Longs Peak Water District delivers safe, quality water to about 1300 homes in Northern Colorado. We are dedicated to providing quality water as economically as possible while promoting water conservation throughout Northern Colorado.The primary storage reservoir for LPWD is Carter Lake. Our water is treated at the Kugel Plant located near our offices on Vermillion Road.  As a supplemental source during summer months, water is also supplied via master meter from Little Thompson Water District.  This water is treated at the Carter Lake Filter Plant.

District Board meetings are open to the public and are held at the District offices located at 9875 Vermillion Road, Longmont, CO., 80504.  Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 9:30 am.  Any Change to a meeting day or time will be published in the Longmont Times Call, and posted on this website.
